چکیده
Abstract Although agroforestry systems (AFS) provide numerous ecosystem services and are a recognized strategy for climate change mitigation adaptation, knowledge on the woody component is lacking. Single tree data could improve planning, management optimization of AFS. One species which great interest due to its valuable timber non-timber products walnut ( Juglans regia L.). We used terrestrial laser scanning fit quantitative structure models (QSMs) 65 trees in AFS with diameter at breast height (DBH) ranging from 1 77 cm. Based QSMs, volumetric information as well crown parameters were derived. By combining bark wood density followed by carbon nutrient concentration, whole biomass, content To enable application our results, we modeled allometric relationships based DBH. The maximum projection area was more than 340 m 2 , leafless above-ground dry biomass 7.4 t amount stored 3.6 (in metric tons). A modelled comprising 15 per hectare target DBH 60 cm projects end 60-year rotation period an volume 100 3 about roughly 30 sequestered carbon. producing functions, much needed small-scale modelling

Rethinking the history of common walnut (Juglans regia L.) in Europe: Its origins and human interactions
Common walnut (Juglans regia L) is an economically important species cultivated worldwide for its high-quality wood and nuts. It is generally accepted that after the last glaciation J. regia survived and grew in almost completely isolated stands in Asia, and that ancient humans dispersed walnuts across Asia and into new habitats via trade and cultural expansion. The history of walnut in Europe ...
متن کاملLipid analysis of Greek walnut oil (Juglans regia L.).
The walnut oil (Juglans regia L.) total lipids (TL) were extracted by the Bligh-Dyer method and the lipid classes have been isolated by chromatographic techniques and they were analyzed by high performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC)/FID and GC-MS. The oil was found to be rich in neutral lipids (96.9% of total lipids) and low in polar lipids (3.1% of total lipids). The neutral lipid fract...
متن کاملXenia and Metaxenia in Persian Walnut (Juglans regia L.)
In 2007 and 2008, the influence of pollen source on the shell and kernel traits of resulting seeds and on fruit set was examined to evaluate the potential for Xenia or Metaxenia in Persian walnut. Pistillate flowers of ‘Jamal’, ‘Chandler’, ‘Hartley’ and ‘Pedro’ were crossed with the pollen of ‘Serr’, ‘Z60’ and ‘Damavand’. The pistillate flowers on each female parent were covered about one week...

BACKGROUND The production of nanoparticles using a biosystem is considered green chemistry. Application of plant extracts as a biological process has been proven to be suitable for synthesis of nanoparticles. OBJECTIVES This study designed in order to evaluate the production of silver nanoparticles using Juglans regia leaf extract and to compare the outcome of different preparation methods of...
متن کاملTotal phenols, antioxidant potential and antimicrobial activity of walnut (Juglans regia L.) green husks.
The total phenols content and antioxidant and antimicrobial activities were studied in walnut (Juglans regia L.) green husks aqueous extracts of five different cultivars (Franquette, Mayette, Marbot, Mellanaise and Parisienne). Total phenols content was determined by colorimetric assay and their amount ranged from 32.61 mg/g of GAE (cv. Mellanaise) to 74.08 mg/g of GAE t (cv. Franquette). The a...
